TI: Internal Errors (Report Them Here!)
Subject description: This thread is for internal errors only, post feedback and bugs in a new topic.
This is the only topic here I don't want to see getting any replies. Hopefully there will be no Internal Errors, but if you do come across any, please upload the except.txt and logfile.txt here. A Description of what happened before the Internal Error occurred, what map and settings you had set would help us too.
If you receive an Internal Error upon loading a map, try setting GAME.EXE compatibility to Windows 98. _________________ Aro - Leader of Twisted Insurrection

by "reinstalling" you mean re-extracting or downloading the rar again?
I'm downloading atm, however putting the files @ TS folder makes it run (although not too well - but i CAN get into the original campaign and such) QUICK_EDIT

No, No, No. Listen. Right Click on TI's GAME.exe, then click on Properties, then click on the compatibility tab. In that section, select Windows 98 compatibility, make sure the box is ticked, apply and then try.

Re-downloading. Are you following the installation instructions properly? You don't need Tiberian Sun to run TI, it runs standalone... _________________ Aro - Leader of Twisted Insurrection

Ok I got it!!!
It works now _________________ Hijacking is the solution for every vehicle problem!!! If you need a vehicle just capture it!!! QUICK_EDIT
Try re-installing. It could be a corrupt download.
copied it to a WinXP 32bit computer and it worked with ease... download is fine and so is the mod - however it doesn't work on WinXP64...
Any chance you could help me out running this on my 64bit PC? (the other one is a laptop and it's screen is in a status where the game is simply too dark to see well)
P.S: the original TS runs smoothly on my system QUICK_EDIT

Cannot play online.
I just can`t play online. I installed the files that come with tiberian sun but when I press OK, it gave me this error and yes I registered on XWIS.com

Same.
It still give me the error but when I double clicked the registerWOL when I first installed it, it gave me this error message ( Uploaded image) but the second value succeded. I also re-included the except. Is there a way to add WOLAPI and WOL Browser manually ?

I've never seen that error ever occur before with TI or any other C&C. Revert things back to normal and arrange games on Hamachi LAN instead, at least until I figure out what causes that. _________________ Aro - Leader of Twisted Insurrection

I've had and fixed that problem before, but I can't for the life of me remember how. When I next catch you on MSN, I'll give you a walk-through to try and get XWIS working. _________________ Aro - Leader of Twisted Insurrection

Why are you using registerWOL.bat with my installer? That will screw up the installation of a working shared internet components install. -_-
Hell, my installer doesn't even come with registerWOL.bat because it already registers the components in the registry! _________________ QUICK_EDIT
And TI is a standalone, right? And it get fucked up if you copy it into a folder where you had a vanilla game, right? Wasnt there something like that? _________________

Actually that`s the internet folder that came with Tiberian Sun. Plus it would just be plain stupid if I did that. Last edited by JK-Terminator on Sat Aug 28, 2010 2:31 pm; edited 1 time in total QUICK_EDIT

Ok.
Guys it`s ok now. I managed to fix it. It turns out the problem was with Windows Vista having User Account Control on. If anyone else has Vista and cannot connect to the XWIS server has to turn off User Account Control and re-register the .dll files. QUICK_EDIT
That's obviously the compatibility problem. If none of the compat modes allows you to start a game, i fear you have to find a solution yourself or wait until another winXP64 user gives the answer.
Once we fixed the compat problem at all, it might also fix your problem.
btw, can you play vanilla TS or does it give you an IE too? _________________ SHP Artist of Twisted Insurrection. Main Nod building SHP creator.
This is again the same EIP 004D2451 which you had before and is already known for a while to us. Though one of our the exe hackers hasn't yet deciphered the cause for this EIP. _________________ SHP Artist of Twisted Insurrection. Main Nod building SHP creator.
first off all, yeah, I set compatibility to Windows 98 / ME, and it's used as a stand alone
Trying to start any game leads to the following procedure:
When reaching "gathering theorie on likely enemy plan" task manager shows that the process is freezing for a short periode (3 secs, sometimes .
Then it springs to "secondary check on combat zone" (or somethin' like this) - and shows the internal error.
Seems some access-violation, but I'm affraid I've got no idea how to help it.
Thaks for your help
PS: Windows XP 32, tried on both admin and normal.
It's now sorted out, but I'm still clueless why that happened.
The games must have communicated with the registry (not possible^^), or would have been corrupted by an rules.ini in the backup-folder on drive C (quite impossible as well).
Well, I have no idea how to read these Logs, so if you are interested in the cause as well, would be happy to hear what really happened.
Although it's no more a must, cause (as standing above) the problem is now solved.

well, in except.txt, the most important part is this line:
Exception occurred at 00451C16
That 00451C16 is the address of the instruction that went wrong, so the disassembler guys can look up in which game function that piece of code is located.
The other text file seems to be a log file, so they don't only see where it went wrong, but also in which context that function was called at that moment. _________________ QUICK_EDIT
never mind, had to re-install the patch to fix the issue. _________________ Total Annihilation is the only battle strategy.

They were attacking me but I don't remember any more than that.
I noticed something strange, the Hov-vee wasn't available, instead there was a Nod Attack Cycle icon that gives me a humb-vee that fires rockets.
