Yeah, I finally decided to post something here for a change Razz

I did say I added a ton of new terrain to DTA 1.11, didn't? Well, I wasn't done showing all of it yet, so here's some more Smile

What I held off to post for a little while is that I in fact made an entirely new theater for DTA 1.11, including all tilesets the other theaters have as well; such as
water cliffs, shores,...

rivers, roads, normal bridges, high bridges,...

other ground types that can be placed on top,...

trees (converted from the temperate theater),...

and more.

Just like how the snow theater is actually part of the temperate theater, this new theater is likewise part of the desert theater, which allows mappers to get extra creative by mixing two theaters together.

Since this theater is still brand new, there will only be a few maps that use it included with DTA 1.11's initial release (such as j4m3sb0nd's "The Sandbar", shown in in the image above), but more can of course be made post-release.

Looks great! All that's missing really is a cityscape.

What exactly do you call this tileset? Badlands?

At the moment it's just known as "Alt Desert", so the mappers using it can decide themselves what it is representing Wink

I actually intentionally didn't name it, because depending on exactly what terrain, terrain objects and lighting you use, you can make it look like several things; making it look like a beach is indeed one option, but (if done properly) you could for example also make it look like an alternative desert theater or even an alternative temperate theater.
So it's up to you to decide what theater you want this to be when you make a map and then place the terrain accordingly to make it represent whatever you decided on.
