Temple of Nod
Temple of Nod: The Temple of Nod is an architectonic wonder, a monolithic structure that enemies fear. It functions as a high-class technology research center, providing plans and equipment needed for highly powered and technologically advanced units and structures. The Temple itself is heavily armored, capable of withstanding an immense amount of damage. The structure also has a secondary function; it houses a superweapon known as the Apocalypse Missile. Like the name suggests, it can level entire battlefields with one strike.

Overall Design is VERY nice and is close to being back to the TD temple. However, my biggest critique is the damage frame. It just doesn't look damaged enough. It seems to have a couple big holes/burn marks with a lot of small burn marks sitting around on it.
I want to believe that the building is about to crumble and that Kane is about to get smashed by a collapsing ceiling again or something along those lines.
Perhaps make some of those spikey things coming from the missile silo part fallen off...ok just noticed the single one in the back half way broken.... Hell have one blown off and have fallen into the building. And surely there would be debris in front of the entrance.
In all honestly I would think that the silo part of the temple would be a HUGE target for it's enemies I'd think and thus should look MUCH more damaged than the damage frame makes it look. _________________ Kalistia Crestland (2)

I can see your point.
But it's a bit problematic to make more of those spikes blown away, since there will be a firing anim. And this firing anim can't have a damage frame (i'm lucky that i got it work anyway ; you sure remember the missile silo door anim bug ). So if there would be a spike blown away, the firing anim would have a hole there (the part of the anim that had to be cut away because it is normally behind the spike).
That's why i also can't alter the shape of the silo very much.
But i'll try to make the parts that aren't affected by the firing anim more damaged.

yep, this is the silo. Ingame the silo will open on top, then smoke comes out of the small side yellow framed vents as well as from the big side vents (at the height of the nod logo) and finally the missile will rise up vertically, just like in good old TD.
I don't know if i get it work that it flies up to upper map border, but at least it will fly 1 or 2 screens high before it disappears.
When i finally have finished the firing anim, Aro will surely update the topic with some ingame gifs showing the missile launch.

a PM isn't necessary imo. The trick is quite easy. You make the windows as an extra activeanim. In this case it is only 3 frames long. (make sure that you cut out the windows very well, so no redundant part of the main building is left in the anim)

If you read the Twisted Insurrection rules you'll see that what HornedOverSeer did was not against my rules.
And the only thing that is getting changed on the temple is the damage frame as far as I know. _________________
yep, the new damage frames are iirc already done. i just have to convert them into SHP. IIRC i also improved the lighting which could make the spikes look better too, but the shape will stay as it is. _________________ SHP Artist of Twisted Insurrection. Main Nod building SHP creator.
Design is great: a dark exterior made of a seemingly strong and durable metal alloy together with glass shapes which make it worthy the name of "Temple".
The only small critique is that a structure partly made of glass does not look like it can withstand "an immense amount of damage". Though do keep this design: it looks very similar to the interiors of the temple seen in some TS and C&C3 ingame vid's.
The launch animation is epic. It works, looks great, detailed, and synchronous. Do not change even one pixel here: it is perfect. QUICK_EDIT

Really, really awesome design choice, epic use of those angled exhaust ports, makes the temple look like a big, nasty firebreathing menace, which I guess was your point. QUICK_EDIT
Actually those side exhaust where the last thing i've added to the design in the concept phase, after the temple was already almost finish. Though after a chat in the staff forum we decided that the temple needs more than just the small exhausts on the side of silo tower, so these main side exhausts were added to resemble the functionality shown in this picture.
But yeah, the temple is the pride of Nod and adding such a detail doesn't only shows this but also gives it a tad more realistic touch which i always try to achieve. _________________ SHP Artist of Twisted Insurrection. Main Nod building SHP creator.
