News of the week (10 to 16/08)
Sorry for the lack of news in this week, but there was nothing to post at all. Most of the projects have been progressing silently and some will be released soon like TS Retro and TS: Total Wars.
Mods:
- Allies Revenge 2 are in need of a dedicated voxel maker, a SHP maker and a map maker. If you are needing to do something to spare your time and have good talents, check AR2 site for more info.
- FS-21 has showed the new Yuri unit from C&C Reloaded. It's the Yuri Transport Disk. Now you understand who are the alliens that appears sometimes near your home (j/k). Here's a screenie:
- Rampage site has moved to Origin! The layout is unchanged and the downloads will return very soon. dEw_MaN also reported that the first GDI mission has got a good progress and he included the mission description in Rampage forums that can be seen here
- RA2 Exile has moved to Origin! Genobreaker also showed a minimap of a recent map there and progress on beta and some screenies. Check it out!
Resources:
- C&C Central has a new tutorial showing how to make old games like C&C 95 and Red Alert (1) working on Windows XP.
- Origin Modding has a new tutorial about how to skin in Renegade. It can also be usefull to Generals players. They've also updated their links section.
- RedAlert-2.com has many of their sections revamped. It means that they have some cool screenshots from Generals: Zero Hour, updated world builder info, patch 1.06 for download and much more. Check them out now!
- TS: Savage War has several new maps (for TS/FS) available for download. Maps from TheDvD and many other people, including a campaign for Firestorm known as Cabal's Return.
Origin-Network:
- As you may have noticed, Origin has gained many new hosted sites including the 2 new ones mentioned above. I should also point out the GenDev, although it's still not a site, just limited to forums, it's a team dedicated to create tools for Generals modders... things like a spell checker and many other tools that might be very usefull. It's worth taking a look and supporting this idea. Check Origin-Network Forums QUICK_EDIT
