I was originally going to submit this for the mapping competition, but it really doesn't show off my abilities well enough.

This one screenshot shows the main area of the map. It's actually quite small and the layout is excessively simple.


There are violent ion storms and the central pit gets bombarded with meteors unpredictably.

I'm aware of your mapping abilities for DTA, so I am confident that you are capable of much more than this, though this map isn't exactly bad, but it leaves much to be desired.

The layout, while simple as you said yourself is still nice and makes for plenty of tactical opportunities, your real score damaging is done by your detailing. The surrounding areas of the bases could do with much more detailing, rocks, dead trees, cracks etc. Plus there isn't much effort put into the detailing on top of the cliffs (I know they won't be seen in-game all that much, but still).

All in all though, you did a fairly good job despite the lack of extra LAT detailing, your cliff work however is really well done. Keep making maps, and it would be excellent to see you enter the competition. Smile

Thanks for the feedback, Aro.

The map only took two or three days (about 8 hours total, I think) to make, and I ran out of ideas for detailing half-way through that stage. I'm not used to working with TS's slope system, so I also had problems with getting stuff to fit.
