So I was just shooting up the Globotech/GDI base, had some tankspam in the front, some infantry spam in the back, and some drone spam from that side passage, they were all doing their own (G)uard thing while I was just watching mayhem unfold... and suddenly I lost the mission.

I don't know why or how... as far as I know the entire mission is just survive-seek-n-destroy, and I've played this mission a dozen times, and this never happened before. I'm gonna grab a drink and try again, but this is weird.

Destroyed the Globotech Radar by a mistake? There is no other critical building that must survive.
Edit: Sorry, it's 4B.

4A, you mean the mission that introduces the Viper, correct? The only cause for losing this mission should be when you have lost all forces, are you sure that's not what happened? Good to see you again, by the way! I recall you primarily as Phobonaut as that was your name when you contributed to the mod. #Tongue

So I just destroyed the entire GDI base in the lower-right corner of the Globotech city in this mission (again), and I immediately lost the mission for some reason. Really weird.

Are you talking about Nod mission 4B, not 4A? If that's the case then you're supposed to capture the GloboTech radar in the GDI base. Destroying it will make you lose the mission.

Well, I didn't even know there was a GloboTech radar in the base, or that it was part of the mission.

I might be wrong, but I only got info about the radar after blowing up the armouries.

And given how I play, I usually reach the GDI base long before I even finish off the armouries.

It'd be nice if the mission was a bit more sequence-breaking-friendly. Or if the mission plan was just laid out right in the beginning.

It is, assuming you read through or at least skim the briefings...

[Briefing]
1=GDI are rapidly growing in strength and we are yet to discover why, but we believe the hostile enemy
2=militia that we have encountered on previous occasions may very well be linked to GDI's rising
3=power. We have detected heavy GDI activity in this sector and intel reports a GDI base is located
4=in the area. We have also traced anti-Brotherhood radio broadcasts emitting from a radar array
5=station located in a nearby city. Additional intel reports inform us that the radar array belongs to
6=our dear friends, the resistance forces. It must be captured! Destroy the GDI base and silence the
7=irritating resistance groups!@@
8=Objective 1: Destroy 4 enemy armories@@
9=Objective 2: Destroy the GDI base@@
10=Objective 3: Capture the radar array@@

Guess I got eye problems then. Nevermind this thread then.

I am still wondering HOW my forces managed to blow up the radar without me giving the command the first time. The second time I did give a specific order to blow up the radar.

The only thing that makes sense to me is the accidental creation of an adult visceroid that attacked the radar. Because dropping some visceroids in the GloboTech city is like CillitBang. Wow, and GDI is gone!
